Kim Qvistorff

Born in Copenhagen, Denmark Kim Qvistorff grew up in a family deeply rooted in Arts and Culture. Even so, Kim decided to pursue Finance. For over a decade Kim was employed by Den Dansk Bank where he held trusted positions in Forex Trading, Stock Trading and Financial Analysis. During this time Kim was elected as Parliamentary Candidate in Copenhagen. Upon arriving in the US Kim worked for two years in New York City with a small investment firm that specialized in Scandinavia. He then joined IDS/American Express in Westchester, NY - now known as Ameriprise Financial. Here, during his three years, he was honored as First Year Planner of the Year, received Jupiter Award, Mercury Award and finished his first year as number one in the United States among his peers. Although IDS/Amex was an excellent training program Kim always sought his independence. Consequently he decided move on and joined a newly established and promising Financial Planning program with Natwest Bank.

In 1997 Kim finally left the corporate world to pursue a career as an advisor associated with Nathan & Lewis, a company known at the time for its emphasis on independence. Kim is a Certified Financial Planner, Registered Representative, Investment Advisor and he also holds Insurance license. Since 2005 he has been associated with American Portfolios Financial Services, Inc. where he is a Branch Manager in White Plains, NY. Kim’s business is comprehensive financial planning and most of his clients are individual pre-retirees or retirees. So Retirement Planning and Estate Planning are the two most prominent areas in his financial planning practice. 

Outside the office Kim has held numerous positions in cultural and educational charities. Best known is perhaps Hans Christian Andersen Storytelling Center that arranges story telling every Saturday from June to September in front of the Hans Christian Andersen statue in Central Park. In 2016 he was President of Danish American Society in the United States. In his spare time Kim also enjoys playing chess and he is an expert chess player. Kim is married to Antoinette, a Flight Attendant with Delta Airlines. Together they have a son, Steven.
